This week's game, the classic JRPG-inspired Sea of Stars , seems like it'd be up the alley of a couple of this podcast's humble hosts, and definitely not up the alley of some others. Well, guess again, buckaroo! Because it's got crossover appeal that we absolutely did not see coming.
A pseudo-prequel to The Messenger (though you don’t need to have played that action game to enjoy this RPG), Sea of Stars borrows liberally from the Chrono Trigger playbook. It’s got a bit of a slow start, but offers lots of fun to those with patience. We dig into how and why.

I'm kind of surprised no one mentioned the excellent music, especially since that has a strong connection to Chrono Trigger with them getting Yasunori Mitsuda as a guest composer.
