Listen to this week’s episode
We're about to make some changes to the The Resties! It’s not bad news (we promise!) but we do want to keep y’all in the loop. So, in this episode, we have the results of our listener poll along with behind-the-scenes info about the future of our podcast.
But first, we have a cool video game to discuss! Anomaly Agent's creators have blended pixel art, anime aesthetic, 1990s arcade brawlers, and films like Inception and Paprika to create a delicious bonbon of a video game. It's only $10 on Steam -- and a little more on Switch and Xbox.

The top 5 Resties formats:
In the previous Resties newsletter, we held a poll to learn what formats you’d like to hear in future episodes. To our surprise and pleasure, we received nearly 1,500 responses. Thank you so much to everyone who participated!
Here are the top 5 formats, according to your votes:
An extended honorable mentions segment (The movies, TV, and books we’re enjoying)
The next big thing (What’s popping on Steam — or will soon)
Franchise playthroughs (Replays of iconic games and recaps of their moments in gaming culture)
The history of video games (We’ve come a long way since Pac-Man)
Overlooked indie games (More games — especially games you would otherwise miss!)
Have questions for The Besties?
Drop them in the comments! We aren’t able to respond to every question, but we read all of them and answer some in episodes!

Plante found a use for the Dune popcorn bucket — not what you think!
A 30-minute documentary about the rough cut of Waterworld? Yes, please!
Patreon, hands down. Supporting dozens of creators like that. Would pay separately for Besties and Resties for a nominal gesture of 24hrs early access.
1. If you guys had a fucking bake sale, I would show up.
2. I support Maximum fun (is there room at the Inn for Besties?) and The Empty Bowl. I like both of those subscription models.
3. I think a fun way to directly support you (and the games) would be to go to a subscriber-based model where the show stays free-to-listen, and the subscribers ($5/mo?) get to vote on an indie game they'd like to promote/support. You guys would reach out to the game "...hey, our listeners have selected you to have a free 30 second advert on our show, would you like to put something together?". Seems like everyone would benefit.
4. Now that the Resties episodes are going to be largely about Indie-Games, I put forward the Motion to rename these episodes "Indies Nuts"
