This week on The Resties: Double Dragon Gaiden
Double Dragon helped popularize the beat 'em-up genre in 1980s arcades, but the series gradually fell into irrelevance. Recently, the series’ publisher handed the brand to an indie developer with a knack for pixelated combat. The result is Double Dragon Gaiden, a clever twist on the genre with a small army of playable characters.
In the second half of the episode, Frushtick and Plante pick their combined six favorite beat 'em-ups.

William Friedkin (one of Plante’s favorite directors) passed away this week. You can watch Sorceror on Amazon for less than three bucks. It is in fact not about fantasy or sorcery, but it might be the most intense movie you see this year.
Over at GameSpot, Jack Dekker made a video on the 10 things you should do first in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s a really helpful video, though always remember: there’s no wrong way to play a video game!
All the codes were taken immediately. Besties fans are QUICK.
A great old-school arcade Beat 'em Up is Shadows over Mystara (rereleased on PC/consoles a few years back as "Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara"). You and 3 friends band together to hack/slash/blast your way though fantasy monsters of all types. Multiple unique characters, choose your own path, and most importantly really fun combat.
