I love this. It’s so much easier than scrubbing through the episodes later to find bits I want to revisit!

Who would've guessed that 2023 would be the return of the newsletter?

Love the Newsletter, quick question on this ep. Justing mentioned an IOS game called pregresda 99 or something like that. I don’t see it listed and am having trouble looking it up.

It looks like it’s actually called Progress to 100, but I don’t think it’s available anymore :,(

I was also looking for this!! I couldn’t find it under “progress to 99” either

All my best friends are here in the newsletter.

I was happy to hear Griffin talk about the progression to getting into modding hardware. I've wanted to replace some components on my GBA (from battery corrosion) for a while but soldering seems intimidating, and I'm about to swap out the joysticks on a pair of Joy-Cons this weekend, so fingers crossed.

Excited about the newsletter! The Besties has become the podcast I listen to most regularly since I've fallen off of listening to some of my previous favorite podcasts. I'm super grateful for the Resties too! I listen every time I walk to the store for groceries. On days when I need groceries but I don't have a new episode to listen to, something feels off haha

Most of the time the games you talk about aren't for me, but I've definitely loved the games I've bought after hearing about them from you guys! For example, Season, Curse of the Golden Idol, Inscryption, and Hades. You also convinced me to give TOTK a chance (I bounced off of BOTW) and I've been playing pretty much nothing except that all summer! Thanks for providing me so much entertainment :)

Thank you for this very kind comment!

Omg when Justin made that sound after Halls of Torment was mentioned I knew I had to check it out. I bought the game after playing the demo for about 10 minutes and I’m obsessed. Thank you.

I’m so glad they found a polygon intern to make a newsletter . But seriously Plante, I used to LOVE Matinee when I was a kid, I thought it was hilarious, it’s awesome to hear it still holds up

I've had so much fun with Luck be a Landlord. Speaking of replayability, I got the shadow item that will kill you if you hit $100 Billion. Very satisfying to take the time and zen out over hours and multiple sessions to earn that guillotine.

This fan site is perfect! I often have little tidbits or questions during the episode and now we can discuss here!

Btw, Justin was wrong, there was another good puzzle quest game: Marvel puzzle quest. When it was new it was fantastic, and had a cool hero-based mechanic that allowed for building teams with interesting synergies. Sadly the game got deep into a p2w/whale bait rabbit hole that ruined it, now days if you want to play you should just use cheat engine to give yourself currency and enter the cheater sandbox. I would love to see another puzzle RPG with hero-based team mechanics.

My boyfriend Harry and I listen every week and love the newsletter with direct links because it avoids copycat games like the ridiculous fishing problem you guys mentioned in the resties this week. Harry if you see this…made you look! I love you!

What is the iOS game Justin mentions with 99 puzzles? Progresta 99?

Christian's avatar

It’s called Progress to 100 and it’s not available anymore

Torchlight is one of my favorite games of all time it was so fun to hear Russ mention it

I like the approach of people only playing the games they have some interest in.

Loving the newsletter! Such a great format and accompaniment for the podcast.

I wanna say, I thought Justin's recent bullying about JRPGs when Chrono Cross was brought up was out of nowhere and not appreciated. Less of that, please.
